Exploiting ActionScript3 interpreter
Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EST
Red Room
This session, presented by Kaspersky Lab malware analysts Boris Larin and Anton Ivanov, will demonstrate why Adobe Flash Player is still a popular target for threat actors. During the presentation, Larin and Ivanov will also release their own 'ActionScript3' processor module and debug plug-in for IDA Pro. These tools work together to complement each other, and have already shown results during in-the-wild exploit debugging. The session will also cover how to find new vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player, as well as exploitation techniques used by threat actors in Flash exploits today.
Shedding skin - Turla's fresh faces
Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 12:00 – 12:30 p.m. EST
Green Room
Turla is a long-standing and active APT that frequently sheds its skin and grows into something new. Known for a long-running, complex and innovative malware set, satellite-based C&C communications, it is a sophisticated and capable group. During their talk, Kaspersky Lab GReAT researchers Kurt Baumgartner and Mike Scott will examine these malware sets and intrusion techniques, compare them against others and try to understand what will be shed next.
Further details on the presentation findings will also be made available on Securelist.com.
