Kaspersky named “top player” in APT protection market by Radicati Group

Woburn, MA – May 20, 2022 - The Radicati Group’s latest report, analyzing the market for APT solutions, placed Kaspersky in the top quadrant of providers for its Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform, Kaspersky EDR Expert and other enterprise products. The company’s “top player” status came from its high ranking in functionality and strategic vision, putting it in the top five vendors based on these metrics.

From the infamous Pegasus Project to supply-chain attacks, APTs have become a serious threat that continue to update and diversify their tactics, techniques and procedures. This has led enterprises to rapidly adopt APT solutions. According to the Radicati report, the sector of cybersecurity solutions against APTs is projected to grow from $6.9 billion this year to $15.2 billion by 2026.

The “Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) Protection – Market Quadrant 2022” report conveys where leading vendors in the market fit along four quadrants – labeled top players, trail blazers, specialists, or mature players. Vendors are evaluated and positioned in quadrants according to two criteria: functionality and strategic vision. Named as a “top player,” Kaspersky is considered a current market leader, achieving high assessments in functionality and vision. This marks the third year in a row that the Radicati Group has recognized Kaspersky as a leader in the growing APT protection solutions market.

Kaspersky’s enterprise portfolio was said to “effectively [combine] different layers of protection against complex cyberthreats.” This integrated approach meets the unique security demands of businesses at different maturity levels and effectively prevents and responds to cyber-incidents. In particular, “The Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack (KATA) Platform, with Kaspersky EDR Expert at its core, acts as an Extended Detection and Response (XDR) solution delivering all-in-one APT protection powered by Threat Intelligence and mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.” Kaspersky tracks over 900 operations and groups, including notable threat actors, like Turla, BlueNoroff, Lazarus and APT41.

The Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform was also recognized for its ability to operate within strict privacy policies, such as those in the financial services and government sectors. The unified solution does this by working in a completely isolated mode that prevents any data from being transferred outside of an organization’s perimeter.

We understand the growing concerns organizations have over recent APT developments and successfully address them with our security product portfolio, supported by our leading Threat intelligence,” comments Ivan Vassunov, VP, Corporate Product Management, Kaspersky. “This results in exceptional capabilities for prevention, detection, investigation and response. Our goal is to protect all types of organizations from APTs, regardless of the maturity of their information security experts. That’s why, in addition to our products, we provide our expertise as a managed service with a 24/7 Security Operation Center (MDR SOC) to detect and respond to threats on behalf of customers. We’re glad to see that the expert community recognizes Kaspersky’s efforts and innovations in this area.”
