Woburn, MA – June 5, 2018 – Kaspersky Lab has scored in a Gartner report focused on endpoint protection. The company received the highest product score in one of the three use cases in Gartner’s Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms.

The report evaluated the capabilities of vendors to meet the needs of three distinct types of organizations: Type A, those focusing on solutions that are flexible and customizable to meet operational requirements; Type B, those focusing on a blend of prevention and detection and response capabilities in accordance with the skills and experience of their security operations teams, alternatively, evaluating MSS and MDR capabilities to extend their internally available capabilities; and Type C, those emphasizing prevention-focused solutions, evaluating EDR mainly for its forensics capabilities only, and favoring solution providers that also offer MSS and MDR components.

Overall, 21 vendors were analyzed for the report and given a score within three use cases for the following critical capabilities: prevention, console alerting and reporting, EDR core functionality, EDR advanced response, third-party integration, EPP suite, managed services, geographic support and OS support.

Kaspersky Lab scored 3.56, 3.76 and 3.86 out of 5 for the Type A, B and C use cases respectively – receiving the highest score in the Type C use case.

“As every company has different resource and budget constraints when it comes to securing the business from threats, each of them needs access to effective endpoint protection with a configuration tailored to address their unique challenges,” said Nikita Shvetsov, Chief Technology Officer, Kaspersky Lab. “As security is a regularly shifting landscape, we are constantly updating our endpoint products to keep pace with every business need, helping organizations stay one step ahead of the cyber threats that plague them on a daily basis. To us, being placed within the highest three product scores across each use case affirms our mission to provide relevant and reliable protection for any type of threat and any type of business.”

According to Gartner’s report, “endpoint protection is evolving to address security architecture tasks such as hardening, investigation, incident detection and incident response.” The latest version of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business provides customers with multi-layered protection technologies to defend against different attack vectors. The solution can be fully integrated with Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response, enabling businesses to conduct investigations and robust remediation.
