To demonstrate just how simple it might be to hack the average smart home, Kaspersky Lab tested four devices at random, including the common Chromecast streaming stick. Hijacking the Chromecast's output was found to be simple, due to two features that combine to form a bug and open up possibilities for hackers to take next steps. When purchasing IoT devices, be aware that they may open up security holes in your home that everyday devices don't allow.
