Woburn, MA – February 20, 2013 - Kaspersky Lab has been awarded Building Impact’s Gold Impact Award for 2012 for its commitment to strengthening local communities through volunteerism and giving.

As a participating company in the 2012 Building Impact’s Connect Program, Kaspersky Lab was required to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the award:

  • Host three donation drives in the office
  • Host two in-office volunteer events
  • Volunteer for at least two nonprofit  events
  • Hold at least one corporate volunteer day in the community

Kaspersky Lab not only met these criteria but went above and beyond.  Throughout 2012, Kaspersky employees contributed to a variety of in-office philanthropic activities including a “Ready For School” drive, donating back-to-school supplies for children, raising money for breast cancer research through a silent auction and bake sale during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and holding a holiday toy drive.

Outside of the office, Kaspersky Lab employees helped to clean up the Mystic River north of Boston, took part in Boston’s Corporate Challenge 5K race and worked at the Greater Boston Food Bank to help make meals for those in need.  Kaspersky Lab plans to continue these initiatives and broaden the number and types of community service opportunities in 2013. Building Impact’s Mission

Building Impact’s mission to create stronger and more connected communities is best advanced by each citizen—both corporate and individual—rolling up their sleeves and getting personally involved in helping local communities. Their goal is to help our participants move over time towards more meaningful and frequent community engagement, what they call The Path of Engagement. The Footprint Awards—now called The Impact Awards— were developed to recognize the most engaged partners as they move along the Path of Engagement, leaving their positive impact along the way. Kaspersky Lab will be honored on March 29, 2013 at Building Impact’s first annual “Non-Gala” event in downtown Boston.
