  5. Close the Lock to prevent unauthorized access to the application settings.
  6. Close the Preferences and main application windows.

How to enable/disable KSN service during the program installation

  1. Start installation of Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac.
  2. In the Install Kaspersky Internet Security window click the arrow to the right of I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network to read the KSN Agreement.
  3. The Agreement window opens. Carefully read the agreement. Click Go Back.
  4. If you agree with the agreement, check the I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network box. If you do not agree with the agreement, uncheck the box.

Once you make your selection, click install to continue with the installation process.

How to enable KSN service from the Preferences window

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. At the top left corner of the window click the Preferences button.
  3. In the Preferences window go to the KSN tab.
  4. To read the participating statement, click the Read Full Text of the Statement button.
  5. In the Kaspersky Security Network Statement window click Close.
  6. In the General section check the box I agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network.
  7. Close the Lock to prevent unauthorized access to the program settings.

4. Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac Displays 'Protection is starting' message

After installation of Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac "on top" of Kaspersky Security for Mac or Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Mac the following situations may appear:

  • The application does not activate a reserved activation code automatically once the current license expires.
  • The Kaspersky Internet Security window contains the following message: "Protection is starting".
  • The Kaspersky icon is inactive (icon is grey) on the taskbar (next to the time/date) and only the Quit item is available in the context menu.

In order to resolve the problem, perform the following actions:

  1. Delete Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac using the standard uninstallation tool archive.
  2. Reboot the computer.
  3. Download Kaspersky Security for Mac.
  4. Install Kaspersky Security for Mac.
  5. Delete the current license and reserved activation code by performing the following actions:
    • Open Kaspersky Security for Mac
    • Click the button with the key icon.
    • In the Kaspersky Security: License window click the button with the cross icon in the reserve section.
    • In the Are you sure you want to delete the key? window click the Delete button.
    • In the Kaspersky Security: License window click the button with the cross icon in the active section.
    • In the Are you sure you want to delete the key? window click the Delete button.
    • The Kaspersky Security window will contain the message "Application not activated".
  6. Install Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac "on top" of Kaspersky Security for Mac.
  7. Activate Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac.
