Review: Kaspersky Total Security - PC Magazine
PC Magazine, By Neil Rubenking
Typical security suite licensing plans let you install protection on up to three PCs. That was fine ten years ago, but the modern household tends to be more eclectic, device-wise. Kaspersky Total Security aims to protect all of your devices, not just PCs. $89.95 per year lets you install it on three devices, or $99.95 for five devices. Its offers a lot more on the PC and Android platforms than on the Mac, though, and top competitors are both better and cheaper.
This product is effectively the successor to both Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security, Kaspersky's previous mega-suite, and Kaspersky Internet Security - Multi-Device, Kaspersky's previous multi-platform suite. The main window looks a lot like that of Kaspersky Internet Security 2015, with a status banner across the top and big buttons below, but Kaspersky Total Security boasts eight buttons, not four.
A second window of additional tools displays firewall and network activity in real time and offers access to a wide variety of reports. The report panel takes on a subtle jiggle if there's pending information you ought to see; clever! This page also provides access to a number of useful security bonus tools.
Bottom Line
Kaspersky Total Security offers great protection for PC and Android devices, but Mac protection is a bit limited and iOS protection quite limited. It's good, but the competition is better and cheaper. 4 out of 5 stars. Read more.
