Kaspersky joins the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council’s Tech Compact for Social Justice Initiative

April 27, 2021

Woburn, MA – April 27, 2021 – Kaspersky today, announces that it has joined the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) Tech Compact for Social Justice as part of its ongoing commitment to further its diversity, equity and inclusion.

The Tech Compactfor Social Justice was created under the leadership of the Executive Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee of the MassTLC Board of Trustees as a way for the industry to come together and affect meaningful change on a scale greater than any one company could achieve on its own.

Through the Tech Compact, Kaspersky joins the local tech industry in accepting responsibility to change at the company and at community level in order to make tech in Massachusetts a more diverse, inclusive and socially just place for workers of all backgrounds.

As part of the initiative, Kaspersky has pledged to expand educational programs and opportunities for inclusion, unconscious bias, and creating a judgement-free culture. Along with programming, the company is aligning its hiring and leadership development to champion diversity and talent within the workforce. Additionally, the company is reviewing and updating its products and communication platforms to increase support for all communities.

“Kaspersky’s mission and the core of our work is to build a safer world,” said Robert Cataldo, managing director, Kaspersky North America. “This mission encompasses more than just security, it includes the way we interact with our community, and the people that make it up. We are proud to join the Tech Compact for Social Justice, to not only educate and show our employees support, but to take action in raising awareness of the benefits of a diversified tech industry.”

"This is a time when people are speaking out and we, as leaders, need to listen to them. This is how change happens, and that is why we launched theTech Compact for Social Justice." stated Tom Hopcroft, CEO of MassTLC. "We recognize that Boston and the tech industry have not done enough to support and encourage the inclusion of Black, Latinx and Indigenous people and we accept our responsibility to do more to make change at the company and community level."
