Woburn, MA – June 13, 2024 – Kaspersky has unveiled details on the renowned Security Analyst Summit (SAS), set to take place for the sixteenth time from October 22-25, 2024, in Bali. This exclusive three-day conference invites cybersecurity researchers, law enforcement, government agencies, CERTs, and senior executives to explore the latest trends in the cyberthreat landscape. The call for papers (CFP), inviting participants to propose the work they would like to present, is now open, with submissions being accepted until August 1. The conference also features the Capture the Flag (CTF) finals, with a prize of $18,000.

The Security Analyst Summit (SAS), organized by Kaspersky since 2009, is an annual event renowned for its unique atmosphere that fosters information sharing on the most sophisticated cyberthreats and showcases cutting-edge research and new technologies. Last year’s event brought together 120 esteemed IT security researchers, representatives from global law enforcement agencies, academics, and government officials from 30 countries from around the globe.

“Last year's offline conference – our first since the pandemic – was a heartwarming, unforgettable experience,” said Eugene Kaspersky, founder and CEO of Kaspersky. “Gathering the finest minds in the industry was a powerful reminder of both the strength and resilience of our community. We’re thrilled and very much looking forward to reuniting with old friends and colleagues to share knowledge, tackle sophisticated cyberthreats, and explore the technological advancements shaping our future.’’

The SAS 2024 conference program will delve into the latest and most pressing cybersecurity trends of the year, addressing recent advancements in Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and shedding light on the complexities of modern cyberattacks. With the increasing reliance on space technology for global communications and data gathering, space was chosen as the core concept of the event. Therefore, SAS is particularly interested in research on cyber hacks in space and security research on space infrastructure. Other key topics to be explored include:

- Critical infrastructure and ICS/OT security
- IoT attacks and security
- Supply chain attacks and open-source software security
- Ransomware incidents and protection strategies
- Zero-day vulnerabilities and exploits
- Dark web trends and analytics
- Artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity

Focused on enhancing collaboration in combating cybercrime, SAS provides an ideal forum for meaningful discussions and debates among distinguished participants. The CFP is now open until August 1, inviting cybersecurity researchers and professionals to submit their proposals to present at the conference. For detailed submission guidelines and requirements, please visit the SAS website.

In addition to its conference agenda, SAS 2024 will feature the finals of the international Capture The Flag (CTF) competition for cybersecurity experts. With a prize of $18,000, the qualification round held earlier in May 2024 attracted 846 teams from more than 80 countries, and the top 8 finalists will come to Bali for the finals. This event is in partnership with Yandex Cloud, which provides the reliable cloud infrastructure essential for organizing the competition.

"We are thrilled to host the CTF competition finals as part of SAS 2024," said Igor Kuznetsov, director of Kaspersky’s Global Research and Analysis Team. "With participants from around the globe and a substantial prize at stake, we have done our best to ensure this competition provides a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their skills and collaborate on solving complex cybersecurity challenges."
