Woburn, MA – April 30, 2018 – For the sixth consecutive year, Kaspersky Lab North America has been recognized with Building Impact’s 2017 Gold Impact Award, given to Boston’s most socially responsible companies. The award honors the company’s continued commitment to social responsibility through volunteerism and philanthropy within the local community.

In 2017, Kaspersky Lab North America supported more than 24 U.S.-based non-profit organizations, including the Greater Boston Food Bank, Boston Public Schools, the American Red Cross, the New England Center and Home for Veterans, as well as the Autistic Self Advocacy Network. Charitable events ranged from an in-office blood drive, a fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey victims, a sponsored lunch for U.S. veterans and various road races benefitting local charities. Nearly 100 employees participated in these efforts, utilizing their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) allotted by the company.

“Making a difference in the local community is extremely important to employees and the company overall, and through organizations like Building Impact, we are able to reach various deserving non-profit charities while offering a range of volunteer activities throughout the year,” said Alena Reva, vice president of human resources, Kaspersky Lab North America. “As a company committed to Corporate Social Responsibility, Kaspersky Lab North America is honored to be recognized for its volunteerism by Building Impact, and we look forward to continuing to make the world a better place through humanitarian efforts.”

“Building Impact’s work in supporting local community partners to address complex social issues would not be possible without our volunteer network. Our Gold Impact Award recognizes organizations like Kaspersky Lab North America who make outstanding commitments to the community through ongoing volunteer programs and drives throughout the year,” said Bridget Akinc, CEO, Building Impact. “In 2017, we generated over $1.6 million in volunteer time and resources, and we’d like to thank Kaspersky Lab North America in contributing to these results.”

Launched in 2011, Kaspersky Lab North America’s VTO program encourages employees to step away from their desks and make an impact within local communities. As part of the company’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, all North American full-time employees are offered up to 24 hours of VTO and part-time staff may use eight hours of VTO per year.
