Woburn, MA – April 27, 2016 -Kaspersky Lab North America announced today it has been awarded Building Impact’s 2015 Gold Impact Award for its commitment to strengthening local communities through volunteerism and giving. In 2015, Kaspersky Lab and Building Impact have helped generate over $1.06 million in volunteer time and product donations for over 250 nonprofit partners throughout 15 Massachusetts communities. This is the fourth consecutive year Kaspersky Lab North America has won this award.
“Giving back to our local community and helping others is an important part of our corporate culture,” said Jon Whitlock, senior vice president, marketing, Kaspersky Lab North America. “In 2015, we took our community involvement a step further by introducing a new program called a Month of Giving, which was held in November and will be an annual initiative. Building Impact’s program allowed us to participate in even more volunteer activities, donating necessities to several charities to help those in need, both in November and throughout the year.”
As a participating company in the 2015 Building Impact’s Connect Program, Kaspersky Lab was required to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the award:
- Host three donation drives in the office
- Host two in-office volunteer events
- Volunteer for at least two nonprofit events
- Hold at least one corporate volunteer day in the community
Not only did Kaspersky Lab meet these criteria, but the company exceeded the expectations as well, contributing to a variety of causes and initiatives both inside and outside of the office. In November 2015, Kaspersky Lab North America launched its Month of Giving initiative, which offered employees even more volunteer opportunities. Throughout the month, Kaspersky Lab employees participated in two volunteer activities per week, working with several non-profit organizations throughout the Greater Boston area such as Building Impact, Greater Boston Food Bank, Beverly Bootstraps and Citizens for Adequate Housing.
