Kaspersky Lab Announces Security Awareness Training Products for Businesses

Platform provides web-based, interactive educational security training modules for employees at all levels

Woburn, MA – May 24, 2016 –Kaspersky Lab announced today the availability of a computer-based Security Awareness Training platform, aimed at enhancing the overall security of businesses by providing employees at every level with essential knowledge to recognize and avoid cyber threats. Implementing a proactive security awareness training program will protect organizations from cybersecurity threats to their organizations, such as the most severe threats – targeted attacks and ransomware infections – which are often caused by staff error.

On average, enterprises pay $551,000 to recover from a security breach, while SMBs spend $38,000*. Employee-related threats like phishing are in the top ten list of the most damaging cybersecurity incidents in terms of monetary loss. When security awareness training is designed and implemented properly, it decreases the load on IT personnel and makes employees more mindful about protecting corporate data, reducing losses related to security incidents.

With research finding that computer-based interactive training leads to as much as 93 percent probability of using the knowledge in day-to-day work and a decrease in the number of incidents by up to 90 percent**, this type of training is vital in helping the business and its employees to maintain awareness and lower their exposure to risk.

The Kaspersky Lab online skills training portal will provide businesses with the resources to determine the knowledge level and training needs of employees through educational modules that allow users to practice and learn. • Employee Skills Training Platform is designed for all employees. The computer-based training session evaluates current personnel cybersecurity skills and knowledge, helping people to understand the essential paradigms of corporate security, including anti-phishing, physical and smartphone security, protection of data, safe web browsing, etc. Results are measured via specifically crafted challenges with extensive analytics and reporting available.
