Under DDoS Attack? Look for Something Worse - Network World

A Kaspersky Lab report has shown that when businesses are hit by distributed denial-of-service attacks (DDoS), hackers could be using these attacks as a smokescreen to hide data-stealing or network-damaging events. Evgeny Vigovsky, head of Kaspersky DDoS Protection, gives this advice “The conclusion is straightforward: although DDoS attacks are highly damaging, businesses should not devote 100% of their resource to remediate them. Instead they should keep an eye on the entire state of corporate security.” Read more about security issues in this article.
