Woburn, MA – December 24, 2015 - Following in-depth tests between 21 major Internet security solutions, AV-Comparatives has granted Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 the Advanced+ Award for its effective and hassle-free real-world cybersecurity protection.

The AV-Comparatives Whole-Product Dynamic Protection Test aims to simulate real-world conditions as experienced every day by consumers. The latest test compared the performance of different security products on a PC operating system using Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit. Each product was given Internet access and set to default settings to test its ability to block malicious malware and harmful domains.

The comparative testing analyzed products over a period of four months from August until November 2015. Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 finished with a protection rate of 99.9 percent, compared to an average rate of 97.5 percent across all products tested. The product correctly blocked 1,605 malicious domains and files out of 1,606, and no non-malicious files or domains were blocked incorrectly (no false positives were recorded) which was the best result in this test among all solutions.

Timur Biyachuev, Director of Anti-Malware Research at Kaspersky Lab says, “In today’s fast evolving cyber landscape, Internet users are looking for a security solution that can protect them from an increasing number of threats. Users need a solution that can offer them accurate protection – blocking the threats, but letting users browse the Internet and download safe files uninterrupted – in order to get the best Internet experience possible. We have designed Kaspersky Internet Security with exactly this in mind, making it our goal to help users protect their digital lives. We are proud that our achievements have once again been verified and acclaimed by AV-Comparatives in its latest tests.”

The products tested needed to be able to defend PCs from cyberthreats at any stage. After the malware is executed (if not blocked before), testers waited several minutes for malicious activities to take place and for the security solutions to react (e.g. using behavior-blockers) with remedy actions performed by the malware. The comparative testing allowed for these different methods to be used and analyzed the end results of each solution.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 protects users against different Internet threats, delivering world-class security without affecting the user’s Internet experience. The product offers enhanced privacy features, including Private Browsing and Change Control, to protect customer’s private lives.
