Woburn, MA – June 22, 2015 –Kaspersky Lab today announces its Q1 testing digest, highlighting that its products excelled in 10 comparative tests, the results of which were published during the first quarter of 2015. The parameters of these tests include issues such as the quality of detection of new malware, the reliability of protection against phishing and financial threats and the impact on the device’s performance.

AV-Comparatives

According to the AV-Comparatives annual review of the year for 2014, Kaspersky Lab was one of two companies that collected the most Advanced+ certificates and as a result, earned a Top Rated certificate.

In addition, the company received gold certificates for the File Detection and Best Overall Speed tests, as well as silver certificates for the Real-World Protection, Proactive Malware Detection and Malware Removal tests.

AV-Test

AV-Test published the results of its latest Bi-Monthly Certification tests conducted from November-December 2014 and January-February 2015. Kaspersky Internet Security received two AV-Test Certified awards and Kaspersky Endpoint Security earned two AV-Test Approved certificates. In the latest certification (January-February 2015) Kaspersky Internet Security earned 6 points in all three categories (Protection, Performance and Usability) receiving the highest possible score of 18 points.

In addition, AV-Test published the results of its Android testing conducted in January, where Kaspersky Internet Security for Android received the AV-Test Certified award.

MRG Effitas

MRG Effitas announced the results of two global tests: the Online Banking / Browser Security Certification and the MRG Effitas 360 Assessment & Certification Programme. Both tests were carried out in Q4 of 2014.

The first test focused solely on protection against financial threats. Kaspersky Internet Security successfully passed all three trails, earning the Online Banking / Browser Security Award. Only four of the 14 products in the test had similar results.

The second test, the 360 Assessment, imitated typical user behavior. The testers followed a malicious link, downloaded the file, saved it and ran the malicious code. If this led to a successful infection, the product had 24 hours to eliminate the problem and its consequences. Only 3 out of 14 products successfully passed certification. Kaspersky Internet Security was not only among the three winners, but it also had the best malware detection percentage - 99.8 percent.

Virus Bulletin

Results from two Virus Bulletin tests were released in Q1 2015: the December VB100 certification of products designed to protect Windows 7 SP1 64-bit and the January VBSpam comparative review. Two Kaspersky Lab products - Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Small Office Security – participated in the first testing. Both solutions detected 100 percent of malicious samples without producing a single false positive and were awarded VB100 certificates.

Additionally, Kaspersky Security for Linux Mail Servers participated in the certification of anti-spam solutions, blocking 99.9 percent of spam messages and receiving yet another VBSpam+ certificate. The experts highlighted the fact that Kaspersky Security for Linux Mail Servers was one of just three solutions that did not generate a single false positive.

PC Security Labs

PC Security Labs published the results of the January Android Malware Detection Test, where Kaspersky Internet Security for Android had the best threat detection rate (99.63%). This earned the solution a five-star certificate.
