Kaspersky to Beat Symantec to 'One' PC/Mac/Phone Security

Kaspersky has launched a multi-device security subscription that will launch on Oct. 17, securing PCs, Macs, phones, and tablets.

The Kaspersky One security solution will launch several months before the nearly identical Norton One, also a single subscription for PCs, Macs, and tablets. However, that product will launch sometime in 2012, Symantec executives said about a week ago.

Both products are designed to appeal to geeks who own not just multiple computers, but multiple devices around the home, and want to secure them. Both of the "One" products attempt to simplify that process by providing a single annual subscription to cover all of those devices, rather than force the user to upgrade each device's software separately.
