For the home user test, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 was the only
solution out of 25 to score the maximum possible 18 points. Kaspersky Internet
Security detected all of the malware samples used during testing without
producing any false positives or any negative effects on the computer’s performance.
To test the participants' ability to combat online threats, AV-TEST used
two sets of malicious software that exceeded 20,000 samples. The most dangerous

was the top performer, scoring 17.5 out of a possible 18 points. This solution
scored top marks in the test, which is designed to demonstrate the products’
ability to detect cyber-attacks and prevent false positives.
All tests were conducted on computers running 32-bit Windows XP SP3.
Although three Windows generations have been released since Windows XP first appeared,
this OS is still popular with both home users and businesses.
