Abstract: Mobile proliferation and the explosion of connected devices are at an all-time high as smartphones and tablets continue to usurp market share from the traditional incumbent PCs. Today’s “connected” consumer owns multiple devices that typically span a variety of operating systems and are used for online activities such as banking and shopping, sensitive personal information, and increasingly, corporate data. Naturally, ease of use, speed of access, and convenience have been the driving design factors for these “connected consumers,” with security precautions being an afterthought, if a thought at all.

Chris will discuss why the explosion in mobile platforms and the valuable information they hold has fueled the motivation forcybercriminals to target consumers’ mobile devices in attempts to steal sensitive information, digital assets, identities and money using cutting-edge attack methods, malware and exploits.
