Security Application for Android Devices Successfully Detects and Blocks 100 Percent of Malicious Attacks in July 2013 AV-Test

Woburn, MA –August 29, 2013 - Kaspersky Lab announces today that its security application for Android devices, Kaspersky Mobile Security, scored the highest possible number of points for malware detection, user-friendliness, and its array of essential security features in an independent test conducted by AV-Test in July 2013.

During the test, the Kaspersky Lab solution successfully detected and blocked 100 percent of all malicious attacks and did not produce any false positives. Kaspersky Mobile Security also scored well for its usability, having no impact on the tested device's battery life and no effect on the device’s performance during normal usage. The app also did not generate excessive traffic during the performance test. As a result, Kaspersky Lab received a perfect 13 out of 13 score.

Throughout the course of the test, AV-Test experts also awarded Kaspersky Mobile Security additional points for featuring functions that are critical for mobile solutions, such as an anti-theft module, call-blocking, message filtering, and secure web browsing. Only three of the other 29 security solutions participating in the test managed to achieve a similar overall result.

Independent experts regularly confirm the high level of security and user-friendliness of Kaspersky Mobile Security. In May, the solution scored well in a similar test to the one conducted by AV-Test in July. In addition, last September, two independent testing organizations – AV-Comparatives and PC Security Labs – both gave Kaspersky Mobile Security top awards in their antivirus tests.

Nikolai Grebennikov, Technical Director at Kaspersky Lab
“When developing our products we strive to match the needs and expectations of our users. What do they expect from a mobile security product? Robust protection, naturally, plus a variety of features, a user-friendly interface, and something that won’t drain their device’s battery. Kaspersky Mobile Security met all of those parameters and earned maximum points in the test, finishing first as a result. That says it all.”
