Woburn, MA – March 27, 2014Kaspersky Lab North America announced today it has been awarded Building Impact’s Gold Impact Award for 2013 for its commitment to strengthening local communities through volunteerism and giving. This is the second consecutive year Kaspersky Lab North America has won this award.

As a participating company in the 2013 Building Impact’s Connect Program, Kaspersky Lab was required to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the award:

  • Host three donation drives in the office
  • Host two in-office volunteer events
  • Volunteer for at least two nonprofit  events
  • Hold at least one corporate volunteer day in the community

Kaspersky Lab went above and beyond the criteria, contributing to a variety of initiatives both inside and outside of the office. In the office, employees donated back-to-school supplies for children through a Ready for School donation drive, spent over $3,300 purchasing pies to raise money for Community Servings, a Massachusetts not-for-profit food and nutrition program, and over 30 employees wrote 69 letters to be delivered to soldiers overseas, thanking them for their sacrifice and service. Outside of the office, Kaspersky Lab employees helped to renovate paddocks at the Stone Zoo and made a $1,500 donation to the zoo, ran the Color Me Rad 5K race to benefit the Special Olympics and volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank, making over 6,100 meals.
