Vicente joined Kaspersky’s Global Research & Analysis Team in November 2010. He specializes in Threat Intelligence and also researches malware and fraud in the European region, including banking Trojans, social networking threats, cybercriminal ‘partner networks’ and mobile malware. In addition, Vincente leads technical research projects and provides expert support to customers.
Prior to joining Kaspersky, Vicente worked as a Software Developer for IT&C and Actaris, after which he took up a research position at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). He then entered the field of IT security, working for S21sec first as pentester and then as an e-crime manager. Vicente is the author of several software tools and is active on the conference circuit, both as an organizer and speaker. He was a member of the advisory board for the Source Conference and is a co-founder of Edge –Security, a security group dedicated to research and the organization of non-profit events.
Vicente holds a degree in computer science and an MSc in artificial intelligence.
