Keynote: The Role of Intelligence in Protecting Networks

Eugene Kaspersky will present the new challenges facing the cyber world, focusing on the most dangerous scenarios from 12:15pm to 1:15pm on Wednesday, July 31. Questions he will address include:

  • What are the benefits of a trans-national company in dealing with the monitoring of networks and analysis of intrusions and attacks?  Can major attacks be predicted?
  • Does the cloud “help” or “hurt” small disadvantaged users in protecting information?  How big of a help can the service provider be?
  • What can be done to protect information on mobile devises at the user, manufacturer or service provider levels?
  • How much protection is enough for small companies? Large companies? Law Enforcement? Governments? Or Infrastructure?

More information on his keynote is available on the AFCEA website.

Eugene Kaspersky, Chairman and CEO

Kaspersky Lab

“Cyber espionage campaigns and cyberattacks on critical infrastructure pose serious threats to both states and enterprises worldwide, underlining the critical importance of intelligence’s role in preventing them. The AFCEA Forum represents a unique opportunity for military and intelligence officials to come together and discuss joint actions in fighting cyberthreats. I am happy to be taking part too – as a representative of a private security company – since successfully combatting cyberthreats is impossible without public-private cooperation.”
