Kaspersky Internet Security Beta-Test Program Now Open for Windows 8 Consumer Preview

Woburn, MA –March 14, 2012 Kaspersky Lab customers can rest assured: when the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system is formally launched to the public, Kaspersky Lab’s security software will be ready and compatible with consumer PCs.  Microsoft developers have worked closely with Kaspersky Lab software engineers to ensure upcoming versions of Kaspersky Lab’s popular security software – Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security – will be ready to provide uninterrupted protection.

Kaspersky Lab has also opened a limited beta testing program for its flagship Kaspersky Internet Security product. The Kaspersky Internet Security Technical Preview is designed to work specifically with the Windows 8 beta program, known as the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.  This beta version of Kaspersky Lab’s software is available for all users of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview from now until June 2012.

The Kaspersky Internet Security Technical Preview fully supports the new technologies and enhancements in the Windows 8 beta, including features designed to protect the new operating system’s “Metro style” applications. Another notable new feature is support for Microsoft’s new Early Launch Anti-Malware (ELAM) technology, which efficiently protects users’ PCs from complex malware such as rootkits and bootkits. Other enhancements presented by Kaspersky Lab’s development team make the product fully compatible with Windows 8, with increased performance and a redefined user interface.

The Kaspersky Internet Security Technical Preview is available for download from the dedicated page - www.kaspersky.com/windows8. Beta testers are also encouraged to share their feedback on https://community.kaspersky.com/. Although the beta version will be provided without conventional technical support, Kaspersky Lab’s specialists will evaluate all comments and suggestions on the forum in order to provide the best experience for all users when Windows 8 is commercially released.
