Thank you for your purchase of a Kaspersky Lab product! Before you install the software on your
computer, please follow these recommendations. They can make your first installation of the
software error free and a more enjoyable experience.
- Please remove any previous Anti-Virus/ Spyware software from your computer. Failure to do so
will cause system instabilities.
- Sometimes, Anti-Virus products are hard to completely remove from the computer. It is
recommended that you download and run a removal tool to ensure that all the remnants have been
removed.
- Begin the installation of your Kaspersky Lab software by either running the file downloaded
from our website or placing the CD into the drive.
- Activate your software with the activation code provided either in your email from a purchase
online or the CD sleeve from your retail store purchase.
- Follow the directions till the end and reboot your computer. Your software will now be
installed and your threat databases will be updated automatically. You are advised to do a
full system scan after installation to ensure that no Malware is on your computer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Kaspersky detects another Anti-Virus product on my computer and fails to install. I am sure
that it is not present on my computer. How can I complete the installation of Kaspersky?
If you are sure that the product being detected by Kaspersky is not on the computer, you can skip
the check for incompatible software during installation.
How many computers can I install Kaspersky on?
This is dependent on how many computer the activation code is designed for. Purchases in a
retail store will have the number of computers (users) on the box. If you purchased the software
through our E-store, then you had the option to choose how many computers you wanted to protect.
Check your receipt from the online purchase for verification.
Kaspersky failed to install and displayed an error message. How can I fix this?
Please visit the support section of the website and look for the error code in our knowledge
base. If you cannot find an answer there, you can submit a case to technical support and one of our
engineers will be able to assist you.
