Before activating the product, make sure the system date is set correctly on your PC.

Having copied the files the Setup Wizard suggests activating the copy of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009\Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 the following way:

• Activate online – requires entering 20-charset activation code. For successful activation your computer must be connected to Internet. In this case the Setup Wizard downloads and installs the license key file automatically.
• Activate trial version – the Setup Wizard downloads and installs a key file which is valid for 30 days. For successful activation your computer must be connected to the Internet. The trial version is fully functional. When the trial key expires update of anti-virus databases is not available. 
• Activate using the key file – add a key file which has not expired. This option suits users who wish to update their Kaspersky Lab’s product version if the key file was received from the activation page. 
• Activate later – skip activation on this step. Databases can be updated immediately after activation is complete.

To activate a commercial version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 select Activate online.

In the Activation code field enter the activation code which you got when purchasing the license. Activation code should be entered from the keyboard using Latin letters ONLY without any hyphens. The program calculates the number of entered symbols and inserts hyphens automatically. If the activation code was entered incorrectly, then once you clicked Next the following information message will be displayed:

Click OK and enter the activation code once again.

If you have already been registered in the Personal Cabinet and you have a Customer ID and the password, in this case click the option I already have a Customer ID, fill in the fields Customer ID and Password, click Next.

If you have not registered in the Personal Cabinet once you click the Next button you will be suggested to fill in 3 mandatory fields: Email, Location, City. Fill in the necessary information and click Next to continue the activation process.

The Setup Wizard will connect to the Kaspersky Lab’s server and download a license key file.

Once the key file is downloaded, License key info window is displayed. The window contains the following information: owner, key number, and license type and license expiration date. You will be mailed your Customer ID and Password to enter the Personal Cabinet to the mail address you have given.

 The dialog windows for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 are the same but with the corresponding product names
