The Web has enabled users to share information on a scale that’s never been seen before. Users can post photos, videos, blog entries and virtually any other type of data they choose immediately, and many of them do so with little or no attention to security or privacy. And the sites enabling all of this wonderful sharing—Twitter, Facebook and others—are learning some hard lessons about security, as well. Staying safe and keeping your private data private on these sites is a serious challenge and now attackers have begun focusing their attention on these sites, making them potential minefields for uneducated users.
