Security Center

Kaspersky Security Center is a major advance in protection management. It’s a central management solution that enables installation and administration of corporate anti-malware, plus monitoring and reporting on network and application infrastructure.

Kaspersky enables customers to embrace new technologies and feel confident that they’re protected against the threats of tomorrow’s IT trends.

By providing comprehensive manageability, Kaspersky Security Center enables you to pre-empt risks to your IT environment and also helps to reduce the total cost of protection using Kaspersky Lab products.

Highlights

Centralised Protection:

  • Threat protection management:
Now you can have a centralised solution for deploying, managing and reporting on Kaspersky Lab endpoint applications on physical workstations, virtual workstations, servers and smartphones on a network. Kaspersky Security Center enables you to manage policies, scan for viruses and run updates and backup tasks in accordance with an assigned administration hierarchy. It’s also integrated with Cisco NAC and Microsoft NAP solutions.

  • Quarantine infected and suspicious objects:
Infected and suspicious objects are stored in quarantine. Quarantined objects and their copies can only be accessed by administrators. After database updates have identified and neutralised the threats, some objects may be disinfected and restored.

  • Automatic updating:
Updates of antivirus databases, application modules, application vulnerabilities and file reputations are available on demand or according to an administrative schedule. Updates can either be downloaded directly from a combination of the Kaspersky Security Network, Kaspersky Lab servers on the Internet or from local proxy servers on the corporate network.

  • Asset inventory and identifying software vulnerabilities:

With Kaspersky Security Centre, you can centrally poll your controlled machines to get a comprehensive hardware and software inventory report that includes a list of known Operating System vulnerabilities and application vulnerabilities that are present on your devices.

Easing the burden on administrators:

  • Easy deployment:
Kaspersky Security Center includes wizard-driven tools for easy and quick installation of Kaspersky security applications across your office or your entire enterprise. There are also utilities to remove the majority of existing, installed solutions and to identify and disinfect compromised machines as part of the installation process. Templates, which are based on best practices, enable you to set policies efficiently and to address common scenarios.

  • Flexible configuration options:
Administrators can use security policies and tasks to:

    • configure protection parameters for groups of servers, workstations or for individual devices
    • launch antivirus scans
    • receive reports on events on the network
    • install license keys
    • update signature databases and program modules

  • Enforce company policies:
Centralised management of Application Control, Device Control and Web Control enables administrators to define parameters for groups or individuals, at granular levels. Robust reporting also enables administrators to audit groups and individuals for compliance.

  • Secure electronic communication
Mail traffic is scanned at the level of the data transfer protocol (POP3, IMAP, MAPI and NNTP for incoming traffic and SMTP for outgoing traffic, including SSL connections). The solution is compatible with the most common mail programs. The application also scans files and links sent via instant messaging systems (ICQ, MSN, AIM).

  • Administration groups:
For environments with remote offices, separate buildings or multiple administrators that have individual responsibilities, Kaspersky Security Center enables management to be distributed among local administrators.

  • Web Console and dashboards:
In addition to a local management console, a convenient Web Console allows the security status of your corporate network to be monitored from any Internet-enabled machine. Uncluttered dashboards provide relevant information, customisable reports and administration activity logs.

  • Kaspersky Security Network Proxy:
This service enables interaction between the Kaspersky Security Network and client computers managed by an administration server. It’s ideal for relieving bandwidth consumption or for updating endpoints that do not have direct access to the Internet.

  • Robust reporting:
Kaspersky Security Center lets you prepare and export a range of standard and customisable reports that provide information on Kaspersky security status and performance. Reports can be run on a pre-defined schedule or you can generate reports as and when you need them.

Support for diverse IT environments:

  • Support for virtual machines:
Kaspersky Security Center automatically recognises virtual machines that are being managed. Administrators are able to assign virtual machines to special groups and to set policies. Rules may be set for load optimisation, so that system performance is preserved – for example, by staggering the start times for scans.

  • Mobile platform support – Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone:
Kaspersky lets you manage security for corporate smartphones running on the Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry platforms. System administrators may define common security policies for smartphones and can also control remote blocking or deletion of confidential data on devices that have been lost or stolen.

  • Support that focuses on customer’s needs:
Kaspersky Lab provides global and local support expertise. In many cases, support is provided in the local language. Support programs can also be tailored to meet an organisation’s specific requirements.
