Press Release
Kaspersky Small Office Security hailed as best solution for small businesses by Dennis Technology Labs
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows Ranked Among Top Three Products
in the SMB/Enterprise Category
Woburn, MA –October 26, 2012 – Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of security and threat management solutions, is pleased to announce the results of independent testing conducted in Q3 2012 by experts at Dennis Technology Labs, an independent UK-based lab attached to Dennis Publishing. The tests measured the effectiveness of security solutions in the Small Business Anti-Virus Protection and Enterprise Anti-Virus Protection categories. Kaspersky Small Office Security was the top performer in its category, while Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows was among the leading products in the Enterprise category.
The experts at Dennis Technology Labs compared corporate protection solutions from leading global software vendors, assessing the solutions’ ability to block as many Internet threats as possible. In the main test, each security product had to block access to a malicious website or, to eliminate the threat while it was trying to penetrate the system. The analysts gave higher marks for immediate blocking, and also tested for false-positive detections, determining the final result by the combined score of both the blocking and false-positive tests.
Kaspersky
Small Office Security earned 388.9
points out of a possible 400 to top the rankings of small business
solutions, and receive the highest AAA award from Dennis Technology Labs. This
outstanding result was achieved by being the only solution to block all threats
from harming the system, scoring 296 out of a possible 300, clearly beating the
average test score of 210 points. Kaspersky Small Office Security also
successfully passed the test for false-positive detections, generating just one
– a far better result than the other solutions managed.
In the Enterprise category, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows scored 345 out of 400, finishing second in the overall rating. However, when it came to neutralizing Internet threats, the Kaspersky Lab product shared first place and did not block a single legitimate program in the false positives test.
