Kaspersky Lab is Ranked Among the Top Three Vendors of Consumer IT Security Software
April 12, 2011 – Woburn, Mass. - Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces that Gartner has ranked the company as the third largest vendor of consumer IT security software worldwide, based on total software revenue, in its annual “Market Share: Security Software, Worldwide, 2010” report published on March 30, 2011 by Ruggero Contu and Matthew Cheung.
According to Gartner, Kaspersky Lab’s share of the global consumer IT security market reached 9 percent in 2010, a 2 percentage point increase compared to the company’s 2009 results. Kaspersky Lab’s consumer security revenue grew 42 percent in 2010, compared to the results of previous year. Since 2008, Kaspersky Lab has seen a 7 percent increase in its share of the consumer IT security market, significantly outperforming the growth rates of its main competitors and in 2010, the company became the third largest vendor of consumer IT security software worldwide.
Kaspersky Lab is currently the fifth largest worldwide vendor of Enterprise Endpoint Protection based on total software revenue, according to Gartner data. The Company has demonstrated one of the highest revenue growth rates in 2010 (+30 percent) and believes it is well-placed to further improve its market position in this sector.
