Woburn, MA – February 25, 2016 - Security solutions from Kaspersky Lab have received top awards from AV-Test for performance, usability, and virus repair as a result of the independent testing facility’s rigorous 2015 test program. Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool earned recognition in three categories when evaluated alongside solutions of 20 other leading vendors.
The awards are based on the results of a series of tests on endpoint security products. The assessments were conducted regularly throughout the year to measure a list of criterion including detection efficiency against real-world zero-day attacks, system performance impact and the ability to remove an active infection.
Kaspersky Internet Security was named a joint winner of the Best Performance award, which recognizes solutions that have little impact on the Window system user experience, while providing a high level of security. The tests involve application scenarios including downloading software, installing and launching applications and copying data. This is the second year in a row that Kaspersky Internet Security has received this award.
The flagship security solution also tied for first place in the Best Usability category. This category tests the impact of the solution on the user experience with the Windows computer overall, particularly in regards to the detection of false positives. Products were tested by scanning over one million benign applications per certification.
During the endurance tests, AV-Test considers which tools and solutions are the best for clean-up, repair and recovery after a malware infection. In 2015, the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool was named the Best Repair clean-up tool.
