Woburn, MA – April 15, 2013Kaspersky Lab, today announced a new division to its corporate sales team: a State, Local and EDucation (SLED) team. Following 25 percent growth in its public sector business in 2012, Kaspersky Lab launched this new team to meet the growing demand and help public sector organizations meet their growing IT and security challenges.

The new team is led by Jeff Gaffny, Director of Sales, SLED, Kaspersky Lab, North America. Jeff joined Kaspersky Lab in January 2013 and reports into Matt Goulet, Vice President, SME Sales, Kaspersky Lab, North America. Bringing almost a decade of experience in selling network security solutions to the public sector, Jeff has a wealth of knowledge and expertise addressing the unique issues the sector encounters. Prior to joining Kaspersky Lab, Jeff was the Director of Sales at Awareness Inc., and preceding that he was the Regional Sales Manager at Sophos where he was an instrumental part of starting the company’s public sector team in 2004.

In addition to Jeff’s appointment, Kaspersky Lab has hired a number of new sales representatives exclusively dedicated to working with public sector organizations. To support the growing customer base, the team will include dedicated renewal support and pre- and post-sales technical support. They will also offer exclusive discounted pricing to the public sector. Like all of Kaspersky Lab’s sales operations, the SLED division will operate in a 100 percent channel model.
