Woburn, MA – October 17, 2013 -Kaspersky Lab announces today that Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 earned the Virus Bulletin VB100 Award during the VB100 comparative review. The solution successfully detected 100 percent of the malware samples used during the test and did not produce a single false positive.

The malware used in the test included threats that had recently been seen in real-world attacks. Virus Bulletin also conducted a Reactive and Proactive test, where the participating products were assessed on their ability to respond to emerging threats that were not yet added to the solution’s antivirus databases. In this test Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 scored 90.85 percent, while the average result was 83.14 percent. The test was conducted on a machine running the 32-bit version of Windows 7 Professional SP1 Pro. This assessment is part of an on-going test conducted on different operating systems.

Although the 2013 version was used in the test, Kaspersky Lab recently released Kaspersky Internet Security 2014, an updated version of the product, which incorporates all the features of the previous version, plus additional security technologies. Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 now includes ZETA Shield to perform in-depth scans on files and applications running on the user’s computer. The latest version also offers enhancements to Safe Money and a new feature, Trusted Applications mode. These innovative new features and reliable technologies efficiently protect users from emerging threats.
