Kaspersky Lab Product Blocks All 422 Attacks, Scores 100 Percent In Test Conditions Most Similar to Average Usage

Woburn, MA –April 18, 2013 –Kaspersky Lab is proud to announce that the company’s consumer protection solution, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, successfully blocked 100 percent of malicious attacks in the Real-World Protection Test conducted by respected Austrian research laboratory AV-Comparatives in March 2013.

AV-Comparatives’ March test checked how effectively popular security products combat malicious attacks in common, real-world situations, such as web browsing and working with popular applications like Adobe Reader, Flash, and Java. Since clicking on malicious URLs is the most common vector of infection currently used by cybercriminals, the Windows 7 test computer attempted to open malicious links to test the protection offered by each solution.

The experts prepared 422 infection scenarios in which various vulnerabilities and malware samples were used. Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 successfully blocked every attack. Along with Kaspersky Lab’s solution, 20 other popular antivirus products participated in the testing.

This is not for the first time that Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 has proved its effectiveness in real-world protection tests. In December 2012 the product earned an ADVANCED+ rating in the similar but longer-running testing which was conducted between August and November 2012. The previous version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 also received AV-Comparatives’ highest certificate in similar tests held in July 2012.
