Kaspersky Lab joins forces with renowned female tech experts to launch a new online TV series that helps arm consumers with security knowhow
October 5, 2011 – Woburn, Mass. – According to research from Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, 78 percent of women and 67 percent of men do not have anti-virus or Internet security protection on their mobile devices1. This is especially worrying given that malware infections aimed at smartphones rose by 33 percent last year2.
To help people understand the risks associated with surfing the Internet without adequate security both on and off their mobile devices, Kaspersky Lab has teamed up with renowned female tech experts, Lady Geek TV.
Throughout the series, the Lady Geek TV Security Show’s charismatic hosts will tackle mobile security, inappropriate content, social networks, cyber bullying, identity theft and the ins and outs of malware. Episodes will debut weekly for six weeks, offering the viewer practical tips and common sense solutions in easily digestible portions.

Episode 1 Synopsis:
In our first episode, when Nicola’s super zippy Android smartphone is stolen by a mysterious stranger, a whole range of worries come up. What will he do with her phone? Dreading her next bill and wondering what will become of some rather compromising photos, Maddie comes to her rescue. With the help of Kaspersky’s mobile security software, the girls go on an adventure to find the phone. Maddie and Nicola show how you can lock your mobile, use GPS to track it, erase sensitive info and share other great tips.
