Kaspersky Lab, Americas Continues its Expansion with Direct Operations in Canada

Woburn, MA - February 2, 2009- Lately, it seems the only news you hear from tech companies is about downsizing. That doesn't seem to be the case with Kaspersky Lab in Canada.  This month, the Company's Americas operation officially opened its newest North American office in Toronto, Canada.  Introduced in the Americas only four short years ago, Kaspersky Lab has grown from a small start-up to the largest, privately-held anti-malware security company in the world. The next step in its global expansion is direct operations to serve the Canadian market.  The Toronto office, headed by Kevin Krempulec, Vice President, Sales, Canada, will be the central point of contact for all Canadian partners and customers.

Canada is crucial to Kaspersky Lab as it continues to build its North American channel. Kaspersky has already seen tremendous growth in the number of partners and customers in the Canadian marketplace, and this growth mirrors the success Kaspersky has had in the United States market.  In 2008 Kaspersky received recognition from Everything Channel's VARBusiness by being named as the 2008 Client Security Software Company of the Year, and in 2009 was named a Best Channel Vendor by Business Solutions.  Steve Orenberg, President, Kaspersky Lab, Americas, was named as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Channel Executives in 2008 by Everything Channel's CRN Magazine. 

Kevin will serve as the vice president, sales for Canada and comes to Kaspersky Lab with 15 years of sales and management experience.  Before joining Kaspersky Lab, Kevin worked as the vice president of sales and marketing at Net Integration Technologies, a developer and provider of Linux-based appliances.  Net Integration Technologies was purchased by IBM in 2008.  

Prior to his work at Net Integration Technologies, Kevin held several senior level positions at Symantec.  Kevin has also been recognized twice by Computer Dealer News as a "Top 25" Canadian I/T Executive newsmaker.
