Protecting your PC with help from Kaspersky. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. It's a company that has its roots in Russia....that began by selling its technology to others. Now Kaspersky...with about a thousand employees around the world, claims to be the largest privately held company in the PC security software business. Kaspersky Americas President Steve Orenberg says the latest version of the company's security suite...Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 is a quantum leap forward for the industry...

"First off it's a new version of our anti-virus engine. It's much more effective. It's a lot faster. And rather than rely on just exact signature matches, the way it's traditionally done, this new engine recognized malware based on more general characteristics and can choose the most appropriate antidote. So it's a lot smarter. The other thing that people are talking a lot about these days is white listing. Historically traditional anti-virus products use signature files or blacklists if you will, to determine what's bad. Well white listing, which we're incorporating into this new version is all about determining what's known to be good on a computer."

The price...about sixty dollars FOR protection for one PC. A license for up to three computers costs ten dollars more. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
