No Failures in Latest AV-Test.org Certification
By: Neil Rubenking, PC Magazine
Today AV-Test.org released test results for 23
consumer products and eight commercial endpoint protection products. All
tested products achieved certification for antivirus protection under
Windows XP, something that hasn't happened in quite a while. Several
made significant gains over their scores in the last test under XP,
which took place during September and October of 2011.
Each product can earn up to
six points in three areas: protection against malware attack, repair of
already-infected systems, and overall usability. For certification, a
product must earn 11 or more points. Bitdefender took the highest overall score, 17 of 18 possible points, with Kaspersky just a half-point behind.
