Latest Microsoft zero-day attack may come from gamers

The latest Microsoft security problem for the latest Internet Explorer-related security hole is extremely serious, but anyone can avoid the attack by upgrading to IE version 8.0, available since March.

"The exploit doesn’t work on IE8, and it also doesn't work on Vista," say Roel Schouwenberg, senior research analyst at Kaspersky Lab. "So anyone running the latest Microsoft browser or Windows operating system is safe."
